// about

For a different
conversation.

liwaiwai labs started as an AI reliability platform for enterprises. We benchmarked models, built guardrails, and consulted governments on AI procurement. We were good at it.

But something kept bothering us. The more we worked inside the system, the more we saw how the AI industry was concentrating power not distributing it. The tools we were building were making the powerful more powerful.

// our story

AI is not just a technology trend. It is a fundamental restructuring of economic and social power. The people building the most powerful AI systems are not accountable to the public. They are accountable to shareholders, to capital, and to their own unchecked ambitions.

We saw this from the inside. And we decided we could not be a neutral tool in that system. liwaiwai labs is now a community an advocacy movement dedicated to asking the questions the industry would rather you didn't ask.

MachineLearning & Artificial Intelligence

"Were we so preoccupied with whether or not we could, that we did not stop to think if we should?"

// what we do

Community Advocacy

We organise, amplify, and mobilise people who believe AI must serve the many not consolidate power for the few. We are building a global voice.

Open Research & Evaluation

Engineering& Technology

Independent benchmarking, red-teaming, and model evaluation that anyone can access and reproduce. No corporate funding. No hidden agenda.

Policy & Governance Engagement

We engage with policymakers, regulators, and institutions to shape AI governance frameworks that prioritise human dignity and democratic accountability.

Education & Critical Discourse

We run events, publish research, and create resources to help ordinary people understand what AI is actually doing and who it is actually serving.
